The principles

Every garden is different, so I don’t publish a price list. What I do publish is how I charge, so you know what to expect before we meet.

I work from a fixed hourly or day rate. It does not change with the size of the garden or the job.

For larger jobs I estimate the time involved at that same rate, so a quote reflects the work and is not padded for the unknown.

I see the garden before I quote, so the plan and price are based on what is really there.

If a job needs more or less time, I tell you as soon as I know and we agree what to do. Nothing is added without your agreement.

Size and access, the condition of the garden, the plants and materials involved, and how much waste there is to deal with.

Ask me anything before the visit. There is no obligation at any stage.

Shorter jobs are charged by the hour and longer jobs by the day, both at my fixed rate.

No. Quoted project work uses the same fixed rate, so you are not paying extra for the job being large.
